Hello again! We're back with a new trip to Koh Hong.

Koh Hong, also known as Koh Lao Bi Leh, is an island located in Krabi Province, Thailand. It is a popular tourist destination for photography and snorkeling.

This trip will be an island hopping tour of Koh Hong, including Koh Hong, Lagoon, Koh Pak Bia, Koh Lading, and Phra Nang Beach (the boat driver will add this narrow channel as a bonus).

For this trip, we will be chartering a long-tail boat (หัวโทง boat) from Local Travel. There will be a free shuttle service from the hotel to the pier at Nam Mao.

We departed from the pier at 8:00 AM. You can arrange the departure time with the boat driver, but we recommend this time because there are fewer tourists and it's less crowded than later in the morning.

The first island the boat will stop at is Hong Island, which takes approximately 40 minutes to reach from the pier.

At around 9:00 AM, we arrived at Koh Hong. The weather was fantastic, and the views were breathtaking.

Koh Hong is located within the Thale Ban National Park, Ao Luek Tai Subdistrict, Ao Luek District, Krabi Province. Before entering, you must pay an entrance fee of 60 baht per person.

The allure of Koh Hong lies in its crystal-clear waters, offering unparalleled visibility of small fish schools even from the shoreline. The island boasts coral reefs in both shallow and deep waters, making it an ideal destination for snorkeling enthusiasts.

We spent an hour on this island. The driver will pick us up at the pier and then we will continue to Koh Hong Lagoon or Bay. This lagoon is similar to Pi Leh Lagoon in that it has only one entrance and exit, and boats can park inside. At this point, the driver will slow down or stop the boat so we can climb up to the bow to take pictures.

Fresh watermelon and pineapple are available on board for your enjoyment during the journey. 🍍🍉

Within minutes, we arrived at the lagoon. Upon arrival, we noticed a significant number of boats. However, our boat driver skillfully maneuvered to find a spot devoid of other vessels, enhancing our photo opportunities. As we departed, the driver strategically chose a moment with minimal boat traffic, ensuring our photos remained unmarred by the presence of other boats.

After taking some photos, we ordered lunch from the boat. It is recommended to eat on the boat in the lagoon, as the water is relatively calm. This allows for a comfortable dining experience before continuing to the next destination. 🍱

Our next stop was Pak Bia Island, a small island located within the Thale Ban National Park. The island is mostly covered in forest and rocky cliffs, with emerald-green water. Visitors can swim in the water or have lunch on the island. During low tide, a sandbar emerges in the middle of the island, resembling a miniature version of the famous Talay Waek. We spent about 30 minutes on this island, as it is quite small and most people don't stay for long.

After relaxing on this island until the early afternoon, the number of tourists started to increase. So, we decided to move on to our next destination. Our next stop was Koh Ladin, also known as Koh Lading. This small island boasts white sandy beaches, tall coconut trees, and stunning turquoise waters, earning it the nickname "Paradise Island" among tourists.

Due to the high number of tourists on the island during our visit, we were unable to disembark. As a result, we had extra time, which the boat driver used to take us to **Phra Nang Beach Cave**, our favorite spot on the entire trip.

The driver chose this angle because it captures three rocky mountains in the frame. This angle is perfect for taking photos from the bow of the boat. Plus, when we went, there were no boats there, so we could take photos from any angle we wanted. 📸

This marks the final stop of our trip. We've taken countless photos on the boat around this area, and now it's time to head back to the pier. It's currently 2 PM, according to our pre-planned schedule. Once we reach the pier, a car will be waiting to take us to our hotel in Ao Nang. Which hotel are we staying at, and what are the interesting sights in the area? Stay tuned for the next blog post to find out!

This concludes our trip to Koh Hong. For those who enjoy photography or snorkeling, Koh Hong is another must-visit location in Krabi, as the crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches truly live up to their reputation. Until next time, goodbye! 💙🌊
